.:An Update On What's New

I have had a lot of people ask me lately to share what has been going on with me and my family, what we are doing, what's new, and things like that. So here it is. This will be a, hopefully, short update on the Portland Chapter of the Heck Family.

Well, we are still up here in Portland, Oregon. I am still attending Multnomah Bible College (soon to be University) and am working towards my bachelor's in Bible & Theology, and also Psychology. I just finished up my second year and have another two to three more to go. From there we are considering going on to get my master's in counseling from Western Theological Seminary (which is also here in Portland).

I am still the worship pastor/leader at a small church called Fellowship Bible Church, in Sandy, Oregon. We have been going there for over a year and a half now and have seen a lot of good steps forward for the church. This little church has been through a lot, but is now beginning to be ready to step out into their community to make a difference for Christ. Keep us your prayers. Change is hard but most often times necessary to for you to be effective in ministry.

Taneesha is also coming on board the leadership team at FBC as well. She is stepping into the role of children's ministry director, and will be heading up the whole children's ministry at the end of the summer.

As well as working for FBC I also work for DHL Express, out at the airport. I work in and out of trucks and planes, shipping and receiving packages from all over the world. Its hours are nice for students and the pay is not bad and it has good benefits. It has been good for me. Being here at Bible college has not allowed me much time and contact with non-Christians, so this job has helped put me back out there. It has been nice in that sense.

Right now we are enjoying the summer; working, taking a summer math class at Portland Community College, spending time as a family, and making plans for the next school year. We are also once again considering the possibility of doing Foster Care. We have always had a heart to do and can not find any good reason to not be doing it right now. We have the space, the time, and the love. So, we are moving forward once again. Please be praying for us in that, it will be much needed I know.

I am sure there is more to say but I can't think of it right now. As far as future, we are not sure what we will be doing. I want to do something with youth counseling, and that can take many different forms (camps, homes, practices, churches, state, etc.). Please just keep us in prayer if you think about us. Pray that we would be continually seeking the Lord on what to do next, and that he would provide for us the means to do that.

We love you all and miss you, well, most of you, very much. May God's blessings be on you all.
