California Vacation 2009

We just got back from a much needed visit "home" to the Central Coast. It had been much too long since we had been able to get down there for a real visit. We had blast-a wonderful time. There is many blessings and joy in the presence of those you love and cherish much. It was great to see family and friends that we hadn't been able to see in years.

I wish we had remembered to break our camera out sooner. We were having so much fun seeing everyone and visiting the places we missed we forgot to be taking pictures. But, here is a few of the pictures we did get. It is a compilation of pictures from our camera and my dad's. Enjoy.

This is our friends Rex and Staci. We had a really sweet time hanging out with these two and hope we don't have to wait 2 years for it to happen again.

Here is Lukas and Eli hamming it up in the hotel room. We stayed in a hotel for the last week of our trip so the boys could have a pool to play in.

This is me, my pops, and my brother showing off our overweight selves.

Here is Kurtis, my brother, with Wyatt. It was really neat to see Kurtis with him. Wyatt loved him and would reach out to him whenever he saw him. I think that Kurtis liked him too and that he enjoyed it. If you know my brother, then you know how funny that is.

My friends, Paul and Rex, both brought over some mini dirtbikes for us to take the kids out on. The kids had the time of their lives. Here is me and Eli pulling back in after a little ride. It was hard getting these guys off the bikes.

Here is Wyatt and Kurtis again, enjoying each other when no one else is watching. They had charge over the oak-grill for the night.

Here is Lukas and Rex. Lukas was hilarious, once he got that helmet on he did not want to take it off. Every time someone else went out for a ride he was up at the gate for the next run.

Here is me, Lukas, and Eli. Lukas is waiting very patiently for his next turn. It may have taken everything within himself, but he did it.

Here is me and Paul (with little Paul up front) racing back down the hill.

It is really weird when you visit "home" - the place you grew up, and you and all of your friends are married and most of them have kids. It feels really weird. Here is me talking to my friend Erin. We used to lead worship together. She has one of the most amazing voices you will ever hear.

Here is some of the little punks eating some dinner. I say some because this is not all of them. There were even more than this.

Here is Wyatt climbing a little brick wall, but what he thought to be a mighty great feat of heroics and agility.

This is one of my favorite pictures. It is Paul up front and then me and Rex in the back. We each have a kid on our bikes and we are rolling out.

We had a great time. We were blessed. It was hard to come back home to Oregon - hard to say goodbye to dear loved ones and to the Blessed Central Coast (the greatest place on Earth). We are thankfull we got to do it and look forward to seeing everyone again. We love you all.
