Do You Know What Your Child Is Doing?

I don't know about you, but I often find it hard to keep up with the new technology and media fads that our young people are into these days. It changes so quickly that it is hard to be on the up and up unless you spend your whole day on the web, where our kids are, and doing what they do. And, as a parent in today's culture, I realize how hard that is.

So, here is a short little article on some of the APPS that your kids have on their phones and computers that are being used on a daily (sometimes hourly or more) basis. Please read and make yourself aware. In my opinion a phone and/or tablet is a privilege, not a right. And you, as the parent, should have full access and full control over what is on that device and how it is being used.

Parents and children should regularly sit down and monitor and discuss what is on a device and the history of browsers and such. This is how we protect, guide, and nurture our child. With some of these apps, though, all of that accountability and protection goes out the window. And trust me - your students most likely have access to these apps whether you know it or not. I am a youth pastor . . . trust me . . . I know.
